L’étude réalisée porte sur la céramique produite dans la ville de Kütahya en Anatolie ottomane au XVIIIe siècle. Elle rend compte de la diversité des formes et des décors de cette production, qui n’a que partiellement été étudiée jusqu’à présent. La première partie a pour but de décrire l’histoire de cette production au regard de celle d’Anatolie du XIVe siècle au début du XIXe siècle. Le premier chapitre rappelle les principales techniques utilisées, retrace la rivalité qui a pu exister avec les potiers de la ville d’Iznik et s’interroge sur la pertinence de l’attribution de toute la céramique du XVIe et XVIIe siècle à cette dernière.
