Stunting or linear growth retardation is a widespread global problem, especially in developing countries. Worldwide, it is estimated that 150.8 million children (22.2%) of children less than five years are stunted. Africa and Asia have the highest number of stunted pre‐school children with an estimate of 58 million and 87 million respectively.
