Aspectos históricos e culturais do povo Karajá-Xambioá: uma contribuição para a educação escolar indígena

This dissertation focuses on the settlements of the Iny people, especially the Brazilian indigenous people Karajá Xambioá; and aims to describe and discuss the construction of the cultural and social identity of this people. The central focus of analysis is the historical and cultural processes experienced by these people, which includes all the current ways of life that permeates the surrounding society of neighboring cities and all non-indigenous society. The records were collected from the ethnographic perspective (Erickson, 1989), based on the production of field notes diaries and interviews. The analysis turned them into data that aimed at their confirmations or contestation. Initially, the Karajá Xambioá contact history is presented, as well as the other cultures involved in the social context of this people, as well as how the construction of identity is redesigned within a global context. Besides, indigenous school education is understood from an analysis of the construction of educational projects. The indigenous language class is characterized in terms of teaching approach. During the analysis, some basic concepts such as: bilingual education, identity and culture are discussed. The central point of the thesis is the discussion of the Historical and Cultural Process of the Karajá Xambioá people. As a perspective, this work seeks to deepen new issues in focus, seeking to fill an existing gap in terms of precise diagnoses that would serve as a theoretical basis for consistent planning coherently with the cultural reality and the aspirations of the Karajá Xambioá.Esta dissertação enfoca os aldeamentos do povo Inỹ, em especial ao povo Karajá – Xambioá indígena brasileiro, e tem como objetivo descrever e discutir a construção da identidade cultural e social desse povo. O foco central de análise é o processo histórico e cultural deste povo, que inclui todos os modos de vida de hoje que permeia a sociedade circundante das cidades vizinhas e toda a sociedade não indígena. Os registros foram coletados dentro da perspectiva etnográfica (ERCKSON, 1989), a partir da elaboração de diários de campo e entrevistas. A análise os transformou em dados que visaram a suas confirmações ou contestações. Inicialmente é apresentado a História de contato dos KarajáXambioá, bem como as outras culturas envolvidas no contexto social desse povo, e como a construção da identidade se redesenha dentro de um contexto global. Em seguida a Educação Escolar Indígena é entendida a partir de uma análise da construção dos projetos educacionais. A aula de língua indígena é caracterizada em termos de abordagem de ensino. No decorrer da análise, alguns conceitos básicos como: educação bilíngue, identidade e cultura também foram discutidos. O ponto central da dissertação é a discussão do Processo Histórico e Cultural do Povo Karajá-Xambioá. Como expectativa, este trabalho almeja provocar o aprofundamento de novas questões em foco, buscando preencher uma lacuna existente em termos de diagnósticos precisos que sirvam de base teórica para viabilizar planejamentos coerentes com a realidade cultural e os anseios, neste caso, dos Karajá-Xambioá
