The results of the papal tax collections carried out in the Hungarian Kingdom in the first half of the 14th century are known in details, as the account books of the collectors were preserved in the Vatican Archives. The sources connected to the work of Rufinus de Cibinio, Raymundus de Bonofato, Jacobus Berengarii, Jacobus de Lengres, Galhardus de Carceribus and Petrus Gervasii were published in the series Monumenta Vaticana at the end of the 19th century. Hungarian historians mostly concentrated on the tax collection between 1332 and 1337, however, numerous aspects of the collection have remained obscure.
