This collection consists of 11 letters on Winthrop Letterhead from Gertrude Mitchell (Carson) (1877-1928) to her cousin, Alice Mitchell of Richardsonville, S.C. (Saluda County) concerning her life as a student at Winthrop. Gertrude graduated from Winthrop College in 1900 with a B.A. degree in the Four-Year Normal Course (education). Also included is a Commencement program for the Class of 1897 and a Commencement Invitation for the Class of 1899.
