The Effect of the Sports Accomplishments of the Parents on the Sport Choices and Accomplishments of Offspring

Many people have always done sports and done their best to be great at them. This has made many people wonder whether they are just naturally athletic or if they got some of their skills from their genetics. This led the researcher to the guiding question of this experiment. The title of this experiment is The Effect of the Sports and Accomplishments of the Parents on the Sport choices and Accomplishments of Offspring. The hypothesis is that if the parent\u27s sports directly affects the skills of offspring then that will be evident in the accomplishments and sport choices of the offspring. The test subjects will be students that are between 14-18 years old. The students\u27 results will be compared to the responses to a survey that will be given to the biological parents. This experiment will look for previous correlations between sports and accomplishments of the children\u27s parents. It was found that about 63.2% of the children surveyed answered that their sport choices were influenced by their parents. Of those children, who were influenced by their parents, 50% of them had accomplishments in their sports. Whereas the children who were not influenced by their parents had a 42.9% accomplishment rate. Based on this evidence it was deduced that children who are influenced by their parents have a high chance of being more accomplished in their sports. This could be because they have parents who did that sport who could help them, and this could positively influence their skills
