From 1983 to the present day, over 10,000 lives, 75,000 homes, and over 100,000 acres of land have been destroyed by mount Kilauea in Hawaii, because there is no way to control the lava flow. Hughes (2018) reported that residents living near the active volcano Kilauea in Hawaii explained that they are prone to damages done by lava flow. Studies show, according to Rice (2018), since 1983 these residents are actively affected by Mount Kilauea. Bagley (2018) analyzed that 60 eruptions have occurred from 1983 to the present day.
