Measures to Implement In-Service Training Programs for Vocational Teachers with the Restructuring of Vocational High Schools

The changes in social conditions have emerged as a serious challenge to the vocational high school education system. Therefore, efforts are being made to reform this system as well as the various implementation types used, with much of the focus on the role of the government and vocational high school units. Vocational high school teachers will play a very important part in effort to successfully reorganize the vocational high school education system. However, due to the lack of flexibility in the teaching market, securing a steady supply of teachers who can teach specialized subjects has emerged as a new problem. This paper analyzed the state of the supply of teachers qualified to teach specialized subjects since the onset of efforts to reorganize the vocational high school education system and the implementation of the 7th Educational Curriculum. Furthermore, an attempt was made to develop effective in-service training programs for teachers in the aftermath of reorganization of the vocational high school education system, by analyzing the demand for such in-service training programs and the nature of the current implementation system
