Korean Education & Employment Panel

Although there has been an increase in the number of students attending secondary and higher education institutions, indicating a quantitative improvement in the development of human resources, because of the ineffectiveness of the overall educational system, this has not been accompanied by any significant qualitative improvements. In addition, a lack of basic data has resulted in the widespread failure to analyze the causes for this shortcoming and to find any potential solutions. While discussions on the creation of an information infrastructure have been held, these have tended to focus more on panel data than time-series or cross-section data. The objectives of this research are the following: to establish the Korean Education & Employment Panel (KEEP) as part of an effort to develop a database containing the information required for the education of this country's youth, and to prepare a detailed analysis of the relationship between the education sector and labor market
