The purpose of this project was to design a dress out of paper using one of the pleating styles we learned in our ADM 313 course. Our main concept was to make a culturally accepted modern day wedding dress. Saree’s are very popular around the world in Nepali, India, and Hindu cultures. We wanted to bring to life a modern-day version of a wedding dress that would be culturized as part of their fashion. We started out using white mandala theme paper for the print of the dress on the main body. We then added a seashell accent to the bust using an accordion pleating style.
