KETERLIBATAN ORANGTUA DALAM PENCAPAIAN PRESTASI AKADEMIK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

The involvement of parents in assisting the learning, directing the learning and the educational process is proven to be an important foundation for the students in achieving their academic achievement in school. The presence of parental involvement has a positive effect on the learning activities in order the learning success of students can increase. This study has purpose to find a pattern the involvement of parents in obtaining the academic achievement of the elementary school students. This study applied a qualitative approach with a case study method. The informants of this study were six parents (father-mother) and their children who did not attend tutoring, and three homeroom teachers who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection methods was using semi-structured interviews, the analysis technique used was thematic data analysis techniques and the data validity was achieved by triangulation of data source methods. The results of the study find a pattern of parental involvement in obtaining the academic achievement of students are as follows: learning assistance, provision of learning facilities, parent-child communication, parental monitoring of children, parents relationship with school and the division of roles between father dan mother.
