Swedish media coverage for suspected criminals’ refugees : Aftonbladet reporting on Moder Mothanna Magid

This bachelor study aimed to examine journalistic valuations for the ethical code by the Swedish newspaper 'Aftonbladet'. This study will focus on the valuations which can be related to refugees. This study will also examine Swedish media framing to refugees and see in which way they have been framed in front of Swedish society. By using qualitative content analysis to a specific event from 2015 which happened in Sweden we could build a perception about the Swedish media coverage of refugees. We have also identified different violation of the journalistic publishing rules, which Aftonbladet has done while they covered refugees’ stories. These were the questions examined: How has 'Aftonbladet' framed refugees in media? What publicity rules did Aftonbladet violate when it comes to refugees? After a deep assessment of the articles which 'Aftonbladet' has published about this event and the correlations of previous research papers, we found that these Swedish media represent refugees in a negative way
