Background: Previous research shows that patients experience well-being when the nurse has worked to see the person behind the patient. Patients and their relatives feel that it is important for the nurse to be present and communicate with them as it provides security. Purpose: Describe nurses' experiences of person-centered care. Method: A systematic literature study with descriptive synthesis has been used and the result is based on ten qualitative health science articles. Results: Nurses feel that person-centered care means getting to know the person behind the disease and having a holistic view. They highlight patient and family involvement as an important part. Nurses also feel that a supportive environment favors person-centered care....
