The purpose of this work was to study bond lengths in uranium halide complexes by means of x-ray crystallography. In order to prepare the uranium complexes, a synthesis had to be found that would allow uranyl acetate to be used as the starting material. Two complexes, bis-tetramethylammonium hexachlorouranate (IV) and bis-tetramethylammonium dioxotetrachlorouranate (VI), were chosen for crystal studies. U--Br bond lengths were determined for each complex. Carbon and nitrogen were located for the U(IV) complex. A full matrix least squares refinement and electron density maps were used to find atom and temperature parameters
