Deformation of the bones of hindlimb impact to patellar lucation in dogs

The object of the paper is to assess canine hind legs bone deformation impact on patellar luxation. Cases with pace or hind legs anomalies and limping animals diagnosed with patellar luxation were registered and analysed throughout the research. The goal was to determine the degree of patellar luxation, whether if it was impacted by animal’s weight, sex or bone deformation. Degrees that might show possible bone luxation (and might be the cause of patellar luxation) were measured each X–ray examination. Evaluating findings collected from November 2018 to September 2019, there were 64 patients 100% that had diagnosed patellar luxation of various degree (small and big dog breeds). Furthermore, mentioned patients had their bone deformation analysed and determined whether it had any impact on patellar luxation. For all deformations, the most common is displacement of the tibial tuberosity and a shallow trochlear sulcus, medial displacement of the tibial tuberosity associated with internal torsion of the proximal tibia.
