Congado lives in me: one study on present ethnomathematics in cultural manifestations afro-brazilian

The present work arose through a research of scientific initiation, which had as objective discuss and question mathematical knowledge about Afro-Brazilian culture through groups of congado. Congado is a cultural manifestation of an Afro-Brazilian religious character brought to the Brazil during the period of slavery. It has elements alluding to dance and music. Today has as main objective to keep alive the tradition of its ancestors. Thus, the objective of this investigation was to identify mathematical practices carried out during the Congado festivities. The research takes place in order to answer the problem of how the mathematics present in the Congado's instruments could assist in the teaching and learning process. Initially it was A historical bibliographic study was carried out with the focus on understanding the context of the Congado. The data were collected through scientific productions such as articles, theses and dossiers. THE The analysis aimed to verify the feasibility of working with mathematics teaching from the social and historical context of communities participating in the festivity. It is hoped that with this research we will be able to associate history, mathematics and music content to develop a critical formation based on tradition Afro-Brazilian culture.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O presente trabalho surgiu mediante a uma pesquisa de iniciação científica, que teve como objetivo discutir e questionar conhecimentos matemáticos acerca da cultura afro-brasileira por meio de grupos de congado. O Congado é uma manifestação cultural de cunho religioso afro-brasileiro trazido para o Brasil durante o período da escravidão. Possui elementos alusivos à dança e a música. Hoje tem como principal objetivo manter viva a tradição de seus ancestrais. Desse modo o objetivo dessa investigação foi identificar práticas matemáticas realizadas durante as festividades do Congado. A pesquisa decorre com o intuito de responder a problemática de como a matemática presente na percursividade dos instrumentos do Congado poderia auxiliar no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Inicialmente foi realizado um estudo histórico bibliográfico com o foco em compreender o contexto das atividades do Congado. Os dados foram coletados por meio de produções científicas como artigos, teses e dossiês. A análise visou verificar a viabilidade de trabalhar o ensino de matemática a partir do contexto histórico-social de comunidades participantes da festividade. Espera-se que com essa pesquisa saibamos associar conteúdos de história, matemática e música para desenvolver uma formação crítica a partir da tradição cultural afro-brasileira
