Analyse pollinique

The pollen analysis from the cave of Gigny (French Jura) was carried out after sampling along the wall after an archaeological excavation. This exceptional assemblage shows how the vegetation evolved from the Riss glaciation to the cold Neowürm period. Several interstadials have been recognized in the course of a middle Palaeolithic with Mousterian industry and they have been compared with other European palynological results.Le diagramme pollinique de la grotte de Gigny (Jura français) a été réalisé à partir de prélèvements effectués sur paroi après les fouilles archéologiques. Il s'agit d'une séquence palynologique exceptionnelle retraçant l'évolution du paysage végétal depuis la fin du Riss jusqu'aux périodes froides du Néowürm (Würm IV). Plusieurs interstades ont été reconnus durant le Paléolithique moyen caractérisé par des industries moustériennes et ils ont été comparés à d'autres chronologies botaniques.Heim Jean.
