Aplicación de batería neurobel a adultos mayores chilenos : datos normales

Tesis (Fonoaudiología)La batería NEUROBEL (Evaluación Neuropsicológica del Lenguaje en Adultos), es una breve prueba que valora los procesos básicos de producción y comprensión del lenguaje oral; la cual está constituida por ocho tareas, dividiéndose a su vez, en cuatro tareas de comprensión y cuatro de producción. La versión Española, representa un proyecto piloto respecto de la aplicación de la batería NEUROBEL, al igual que esta investigación, donde se decide replicar este estudio en nuestro país contando con autorización directa de los autores. Objetivo: Determinar valores normales de la batería para una muestra Chilena de Envejecimiento típico (ET) y Deterioro cognitivo (DC). Metodología: La muestra de esta investigación estuvo conformada por un total de 26 participantes de ambos sexos, los cuales tenían sobre 60 años. El conjunto muestral, se dividió en dos grandes grupos, según los puntajes obtenidos en las pruebas de selección. Por una parte, tenemos el puntaje obtenido en Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), donde el grupo de Envejecimiento Típico (ET) debía obtener una puntuación de MMSE ≥ 25 y el grupo de Deterioro Cognitivo (DC) debía obtener un MMSE ≤24 , el cual abarca dos subgrupos: Enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA) y Deterioro Cognitivo Leve (DCL), la información del diagnóstico de EA fue obtenida mediante la revisión de ficha por parte de la fonoaudióloga del ELEAM Por otra parte, se aplica Global Deterioration Scale (GDS), escala que sitúa en un nivel cognitivo a los participantes, dentro de la cual el grupo ET debe puntuar entre 1-2, mientras que el grupo DC debe puntuar entre 3-4. Según la distribución de la muestra, los sujetos, se encuentran pareados según sexo, edad (en +/- 2 años) y escolaridad (desde sin escolaridad, hasta estudios universitarios completos). Una vez seleccionados los sujetos se aplicó NEUROBEL para la obtención de los datos. A partir de la muestra total (26), tanto los participantes correspondientes al grupo de Envejecimiento Típico (ET) como los participantes pertenecientes al grupo de Deterioro Cognitivo (DC), quedaron conformados por 13 personas cada uno; con residencia en su domicilio y en una residencia para adultos mayores, respectivamente; completando así el total de la muestra.The NEUROBEL battery (in Spanish, Evaluación Neuropsicológica del Lenguaje en Adultos), is a brief test that evaluates the basic processes of production and comprehension of oral language. It consists of eight tasks, which are divided as well in four comprehension and four production tasks. The new Spanish version represents a pilot project, like this investigation, regarding the application of the NEUROBEL battery. This study is being replicated in our country, with direct authorization of the authors. Objective: Determining normal values of the battery for a sample of Normal Aging (NA) and Cognitive Decline (CD) in Chile. Methodology: The sample of this investigation is 26 participants of both genders, which are over 60 years old. The total sample was divided into two groups according to the scores they got on the selection tests. On one hand, we have the score of the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) where the NA group should get a score of 25 in MMSE while the CD group was supposed to get a 24. This includes two sub-groups: Alzheimer’s disease (EA) and Mid Cognitive Impairment. On the other hand, the Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) was applied to set the participants at a cognitive level. The NA group should be around 1-2, while the CD group should be around 3-4 points. According to the distribution of the sample, the subjects are put together according to gender, age (+/- 2 years) and scholarship (zero to university degree). Once the subjects were chosen the NEUROBEL battery was applied for the obtention of data. From the total sample (26) the group of NA participants and CD participants consisted of 13 persons each. The 13 people that belong to the NA group live at their own houses, while the CD group lives in homes for the elderly
