In this paper, we review the main ways of measuring life satisfaction in recent times and we criticize the use of GDP in these measurements. We will use the OECD Better Life Index database to perform an empirical analysis of the various aspects that influence life satisfaction. The data used belong to 36 different countries and encompass 10 different objective welfare dimensions.
