The ceramic cluster of Castellón

Curs acadèmic: 2018-2019The ceramic and glaze industrial sector is considered one of the most important economic sectors within the Valencian Community and is the third in Spain (ASCER). With the arrival of the economic crisis in Spain during 2007, many were the affected markets. The ceramic cluster of Castellón was severely damaged by the economic recession suffered. Many companies disappeared from the sector because of this. However, thanks to the support of many governmental and official institutions and especially to its high geographical concentration, the sector gradually recovered from its period of recession. Today the Spanish ceramic cluster is among the industrial sectors with the greatest innovation in the market. Next, a thesis is presented in which the ceramic cluster of Castellón is studied and analysed as well as the group of economic and business institutions that form it. In the work, a comparison is made with its main competitors and an overview of the cluster is presented based on the descriptions of several authors and on its operation
