National audienceThis paper examines the case of Villeurbanne during the inter-war period and highlights the flow of both political ideas at municipal level and urban planning methods between cities concerned with rapid expansion. This research aims to look into the process by which local councils implemented solutions inspired either from the garden city movement or the skyscrapers model as a tool to tackle political and concrete issues.
