The article presents the results of our studies in the field of heat-strengthening. To obtain the reinforcement with the necessary microstructure along the cross-section we have developed three modes of heat-strengthening of the steel Ст3Гпс, which varied by pressure of water, fed into sections. The microstructure analysis showed that the higher intensity of cooling mode 1 formed a layer with high hardness, ~ 0.5 mm greater than after the modes 2 and 3. However, hardness on the surface of the sample after application of the 1 mode is less than or equal to the hardness of samples 2 and 3, respectively.
