Trabalho rural, conflitos de terra e impunidade em Conceição do Araguaia (Pa): o que os governos militares sabiam?

The present study approaches the process of land occupation in the south and southeast of Pará, specifically in the region of Conceição do Araguaia, during the first half of the 1970s. From documents produced by the National Information Service (SNI), this work discusses about insider data, owned by the government, about land conflicts in the state at that time. This article also analyzes what military governments knew about the mismatch in the process of law enforcement in the region, which privileged the performance of "regional types", such as the entrepreneur and the farmer. Those types, establishing a violent and oppressive apparatus, imposed their interests, benefiting from the disappearance of the police and the absence of the Judiciary to remain unpunished concerning the crimes committed.Aborda o processo de ocupação de terras no sul e sudeste do Pará, especificamente na região de Conceição do Araguaia, durante a primeira metade da década de 1970. Demonstra a partir de documentações produzidas pelo Serviço Nacional de Informações (SNI), como o governo possuía informações privilegiadas sobre os conflitos de terra no estado. Sobre os conflitos, aponta para o fato de que, naquele período, os governos militares sabiam que havia um descompasso no processo de implementação da lei na região, o que privilegiava a atuação de “tipos regionais” como o empresário e o fazendeiro que, ao estabelecer um aparato violento e opressor, impunham seus interesses, beneficiando-se do desaparelhamento das policias e da ausência do Poder Judiciário para se manter impunes em relação aos crimes praticados
