The paper addresses the most important issues raised by the racist laws in the italian colonies after the turn of 1935-1936, when, after the conquest of Ethiopia, Mussolini planned the perspective of a culturally and biologically "Italian" Empire. The analysis focuses especially on the development of discriminatory legal paradigms and on policies regarding the interracial sexual relations after 1935
