Introduction Recently extracorporeal removal of mediators and endotoxins improved haemodynamics, organ dysfunction and mortality in patients with abdominal sepsis [1]. Coupled plasma filtration and adsorption (CPFA), too, may improve haemodynamics, respiratory function and mortality through removal of proinfl ammatory mediator.
