Tuberous sclerosis with specific renal involvement

A case of a 37-year old man affected by tuberous sclerosis with bilateral renal angiomyolipomas is described. This is a very important association since it is observed in 20 to 50% of cases of tuberous sclerosis. Like other neurocutaneous syndromes, tuberous sclerosis can predispose to the onset of several benign and malignant neoplasms such as cardiac rabdomyosarcomas, glial tumours and renal angiomyolipomas
