Technology teaching in preschool : Preschool staff´s general approach to technology and technology education in preschool

The study examines nine active teachers' perceptions of technology and their work with technology in preschool. The aim of the study is to visualize how the subject of the preschool is perceived by educators and study how the educators work with the subject. The method used is interview with active teachers in preschool. The result of the study is based on pedagogues' different perceptions of technology. The result of the study shows that the majority of preschool teachers perceive technology in preschool primarily as construction and construction work. It was found that ICT material (Information and communication technology) linked to documentation was of great relevance. The result was, in the perceptions of technology, that several of the participants described other subjects as natural sciences, images and languages. Several of the educators expressed obstacles in the practice of technology in preschool. The pedagogues describe in part a number of obstacles in the practice of technology in preschool, which lies in ignorance and an interest in the subject, but also due to lack of time and material shortage
