Uumarei'itetty teräspalkki lämpöeristetyn kattoelementin kantavana rakenteena

Load-bearing roof structures composed of perforated steel beams are not commonly used, and therefore there are no guidelines for their design. In this master’s thesis, composite roof elements of perforated steel beams and thermal insulation boards are studied, and their maximum span lengths are defined. The research is mainly focused on the mechanical properties of the elements, but also their thermal properties are briefly covered in the theoretical part. The advantage of using cold-formed, thin-walled steel profiles with perforated webs is their ability to break thermal bridges, while the disadvantage is their low load-bearing capacity. The studied roof element functions as a primary or secondary member of a roof structure. This research focuses on applying Eurocode 3 to design the roof beams. In addition, a significant part is to consider the web perforation in the hand calculation by a specialized design method. On top of applying analytical functions, the research includes a theoretical part. Product development of the studied element is an essential phase, which aims to ensure the feasibility of the product. To verify the results of the hand calculation, the structure is modelled in a finite element software and the outcomes are compared. It was found that the results correlate well enough to verify the results of the hand calculation. For further verification of the results, loading tests and their arrangements are planned. In the research, effective cross-section values are determined with four different steel profiles and three different insulation boards, forming twelve variations. The load-bearing beams are composed of two open profiles that are fastened to each other from their webs, therefore forming a built-up section. Based on load combinations, the maximum span lengths of the elements are defined according to critical factors. The aimed span length of U200x50x1.5 beam profile was reached without any modifications to the section. However, the span length achieved with U200x50x2.0 beam profile was found not sufficient with respect to the initial aims. To further increase the load-bearing capacity of the roof elements, alternative design choices and their feasibilities are assessed.Uumarei’itetyistä teräspalkeista muodostuvat kantavat kattorakenteet eivät ole yleisesti käytettyjä, mistä johtuen niiden suunnittelulle ei ole annettu yleisohjeita. Tässä diplomityössä tutkitaan rei’itetyistä teräspalkeista ja lämmöneristelevyistä koostuvia komposiittikattoelementtejä ja määritetään niiden maksimijännevälit. Tutkimuksessa keskitytään pääosin elementtien mekaanisiin ominaisuuksiin, mutta myös niiden lämpöominaisuuksia käsitellään lyhyesti teoreettisessa osuudessa. Kylmämuovaamalla valmistettujen ohutseinäisten ja uumarei’itettyjen teräsprofiilien käytön etuna on niiden kyky heikentää kylmäsiltoja, kun taas haittapuolena on niiden heikko kuormankantokyky. Tutkittava kattoelementti voi toimia katon primaari- tai sekundaarirakenteena. Tämä tutkimus keskittyy soveltamaan Eurokoodi 3:a kattopalkkien suunnittelussa. Lisäksi merkittävä osa on ottaa huomioon uumarei’itys käsinlaskennassa käyttämällä erityistä suunnittelumenetelmää. Analyyttisten kaavojen soveltamisen lisäksi tutkimukseen sisältyy teoreettinen osa. Tutkittavan elementin tuotekehitys on olennainen vaihe, jonka tavoitteena on varmistaa tuotteen toteutettavuus. Käsinlaskennan tulosten todentamiseksi rakenne mallinnetaan käyttämällä elementtimenetelmään erikoistunutta suunnitteluohjelmaa ja tuloksia verrataan toisiinsa. Niiden perusteella voitiin todeta, että tulokset korreloivat riittävän hyvin käsinlaskennan tulosten varmistamiseksi. Tulosten koestamiseksi suunnitellaan lisäksi kuormituskokeita ja niiden testijärjestelyitä. Tutkimuksessa määritetään teholliset poikkileikkausarvot neljällä eri teräsprofiililla ja kolmella eri eristelevyllä, jotka muodostavat kaksitoista variaatiota. Kantavat palkit koostuvat kahdesta avoimesta profiilista, jotka kiinnitetään yhteen uumistaan, jolloin ne muodostavat yhden yhdistetyn poikkileikkauksen. Kuormayhdistelmien pohjalta määritetään elementtien maksimijännevälit määräävien tekijöiden mukaan. U200x50x1.5-palkkiprofiilin tavoiteltu jänneväli saavutettiin ilman, että profiiliin tehtiin muutoksia. U200x50x2.0-palkkiprofiililla saavutetun jännevälin ei kuitenkaan havaittu olevan riittävä alkuperäisiin tavoitteisiin nähden.
