In July 2008, Work Package 5 (WP5) distributed a questionnaire to the broader SafetyNet partnership, with the aim of consulting on the investigation techniques and data gathering methods used in the creation of two European accident databases, SafetyNet Fatal Accident Database and SafetyNet Accident Causation Database. The questionnaire contained 11 questions which addressed the importance of collecting in-depth data, its potential usefulness, and the suitability of the methods used in addressing the aims of the study. For those unfamiliar with WP5, each question was preceded by a short explanatory text.
