CHAPTER ONE reviews the literature, discussing aspects of transition metal mediated asymmetric catalysis in the presence of enantiomerically pure ligands. CHAPTER TWO discusses the asymmetric addition of dialkyl-zinc reagents to aromatic aldehydes.
