The research relates to a new and innovative approach for dealing effectively with problem behaviour in schools. The Ecosystemic approach was developed in the· United States and is based on a phenomenological system theory and systemic family therapy. It is a pragmatic approach to changing chronic problem behaviour in schools which does not depend on punishment or control. The approach provides seven distinct but related techniques to enable teachers to deal with these chronic problems. The techniques are based on a series of discrete steps which can be taught to teachers through a series of conferences. [Continues.
