Motility by means of flagella is important for the identification of microrganisms. Motility can be observed satisfactorily both under microscope and on culture media. The essentials and some hints of the motility medium, craigie tube, hanging drop and capillary tube methods are presented here in a brief manner. It is believed that this review presentation, will be helpful for both young researchers or anybody dealing with microbiology
