There are many influential factors related to the life of a deaf child. These factors may determine the success of the child in all phases of life - educational, emotional, psychological and social. The emotional adjustment of a deaf child may be dependent on his education. His social achievement may be dependent on his psychological or educational background. This paper is concerned with presenting research findings which will help parents of deaf children better understand some of the problems related to deafness, as well as, helping them further understand their role as parents. For they are the persons who should be responsible for their children. They should do what they feel is best for them
