  The objective of the research is related to the analysis of the relationship between tourism and the economy in the province of Loja, a site that has several alternatives for the development of this economic activity due to its privileged geographical location and human quality of its population; The study is based on information from the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, which is why they are objective data according to their environment; the results highlight the pilgrimage of the Virgen del Cisne from its Basilica to the city of Loja or the international festival of living arts that each year becomes more interested in the national and international community allowing the entry of foreign exchange to merchants and taxes to the State, with a budget of $ 3,000,000 in previous editions, implying the importance that reverses its execution.   Keywords: sector studies; service; economy; resources; pilgrimage.  El objetivo que persigue la investigación tiene relación con el análisis de la relación del turismo y la economía en la provincia de Loja, Ecuador, sitio que cuenta con varias alternativas para el desarrollo de esta actividad económica por su privilegiada ubicación geográfica y calidad humana de su población; el estudio está fundamentado en información del Ministerio de Turismo del Ecuador, razón por la cual son datos objetivos en función a su entorno; en los resultados se destaca la romería de la Virgen del Cisne desde su Basílica hasta la ciudad de Loja o el festival internacional de artes vivas que cada año cobra mayor interés en la comunidad nacional como internacional permitiendo la entrada de divisas a los comerciantes y tributos al Estado, contando con un presupuesto de $ 3.000.000 en anteriores ediciones, dando a entender la importancia que revierte su ejecución.   Palabras clave: estudios sectoriales; servicio; economía; recursos; divisas; tributos. &nbsp
