Mexico has been considered a diversitycenter of the Cordia genus, which isrestore the genre Varronia P. Browne(Boraginaceae), involving a large shrubby species group of our flora. This motivated usto update the nomenclature and disseminatethe changes proposed by Miller (2007).This review is based on MEXU herbariumcollection, because it has a wide nationalrepresentation. It establishes the distributionof 16 Varronia species, most endemicand highly restricted distribution.
