In the central Chile Mediterranean area andin three fragments of Nothofagus glauca(Nothofagaceae) forest, an endemic anddeciduous tree, the associated orchid floraunder cover, edge and outside of the threefragments were studied. The microhabitat,demography, distribution model, andphenology were evaluated. The thermalregime is relatively homogenous and theluminance radiation diminishes as expectedfrom the outside to the interior of the forestas well as litter of the floor whose thicknessis increased in the same sequence of theluminance gradient.
