Impacto de la variación interanual de las lluvias otoñales sobre la acumulación de biomasa y composición botánica de un pastizal templado

The objective was to evaluate the incidence of the interannual variation of autumn rainfall on the structure and functionality of a grassland in the south west of Santa Fé During the autumn 2006 to 2012, in 850 hectares of natural grassland (Argiudol acuico, 18 sites), accumulated biomass (DM, kg ha-1) and the proportionality of each species were evaluated. Zavalla Meteorological Station (32°40' S; 61°17' W) provided information on rainfall, rainfall data of the study period were compared with the historical record. The data were subjected to a multivariate analysis of principal components (PC) using a correlation matrix and autumns as classification criteria. The first two CP explained 75% of the total variance. The species involved were important to define the structure and function of grassland. The CP1 ordered associating species with rainfall, and grouped in the wettest autumns to Trifolium repens, Loliun multiflorum, Paspalum dilatatum, graminoids and some compound, and Hordeum stenostachys, Stipa hyalina and S. neesiana in the less rainy. The second CP were related in 62% to P. dilatatum associated with the fall 2007, whose rains caused flooding temporary grassland, and in 68% to H. stenostachys associated with very dry autumns (2008 and 2009). The grassland showed a flexible behavior that allowed him to absorb the disturbances caused by the variability in autumn rainfall (average 248,24 mm ±117,11). There were marked changes and productive botanists caused by low rainfall that occurred in the autumn 2008 and 2009, these changes were reversed within three years after such extreme events. Over the autumns of transition to grassland recovery was observed a rapid reappearance of some productive species present in the previous situation.El objetivo fue evaluar el impacto de la variación interanual de las precipitaciones otoñales sobre la acumulación de biomasa y la composición botánica de un pastizal natural en el sur oeste de Santa Fé. Durante los otoños 2006 a 2012, en 850 has de pastizal natural (Argiudol ácuico, 18 sitios), se midió mensualmente la fitomasa aérea acumulada (MS, kg.ha-1) y la contribución relativa de las especies presentes. Se contó con registros pluviométricos mensuales provistos por la estación Meteorológica Zavalla (32° 40'S; 61° 17'O). Los datos fueron sometidos a un análisis multivariado de componentes principales (CP) utilizando una matriz de correlación y otoños como criterio de clasificación. Las dos primeras CP explicaron el 75% de la variancia total. Las especies intervinientes fueron importantes para definir la estructura y funcionalidad del pastizal. La CP1 ordenó a las especies asociándolas a las precipitaciones: los otoños más lluviosos se agruparon a Trifolium repens, Loliun multiflorum, Paspalum dilatatum, graminoides, y algunas compuestas; los otoños menos lluviosos se asociaron a Hordeum stenostachys, Stipa hialina y S. neesiana. La segunda CP se relacionó en un 62% a P. dilatatum asociado al otoño del 2007, cuyas precipitaciones causaron un anegamiento temporal del pastizal y en un 68% a H. stenostachys asociados a los otoños muy secos (2008 y 2009). El pastizal manifestó un comportamiento flexible que le permitió absorber los disturbios producidos por la variabilidad en las precipitaciones otoñales (promedio 248,2 mm ±117,1). Hubo cambios botánicos y productivos marcados debido a la escasez de precipitaciones ocurridas en los otoños 2008 y 2009, cambios que se revirtieron al cabo de tres años posteriores a esos eventos extremos. Durante los otoños de transición a la recuperación del pastizal se observó una rápida reaparición de algunas especies productivas presentes en la situación inicial
