Complexes of the general formula [ML2][M= Ni, Zn, Cu; L= 2-pyridinecarbaldehyde benzoylhydrazone (HPBH, 3a), 2-pyridinecarbaldehyde isonicotinoylhydrazone (HPIH, 3b), 2-pyridinecarbaldehyde 2'-thienoylhydrazone (HPTH, 3c)] were synthesized by reaction of metal-acetate in boiling methanol with the ligands 3a-c in 2: 1 ligand to metal mole ratio. X-ray crystallographic investigation of the three complexes (PBH) 2Ni (4a),(PIH) 2Ni (4b) and (PIH) 2Zn (6b) is reported.
