The years 1950 - 1970 can be seen as a social, economic and political liberation for the Swedish woman. There is a debate about women's emancipation and that the classic Swedish housewife is considered outdated which inhibits the growth of society. During the same period, “Motboken” is abolished in the year of 1955. “Motboken” was a Swedish alcohol reform between the years 1919-1955. It was a major attempt to reduce alcohol consumption by regulating alcohol use. After year 1955 women now have the same right as men to both purchase and be seen with alcohol in public.
