International audienceHow is it possible to keep thinking parenthood when a child passes away? Through the analysis of biographical interviews with bereaved mothers and fathers, I will explain the transformation of parenthood in this situation. The example of the professional sphere shows that fathers and mothers do not have the same resources to deal with bereavement. They are confronted to a normative indeterminacy, which is nurtured by the opposition between motherhood and fatherhood.
