In this work was developed an alternative method for accelerating of the Baylis-Hillman reaction. The methodology consists in the use of the selenium ionic liquid of phenylbutyethyl selenonium tetrafluoroborate, [pbeSe]BF4, as co-catalyst. The method is general and is was successfully employed in the preparation of various b-hydroxy-a-methylene esters, nitriles and ketones. The best results were obtained when aromatic aldehydes and acrylonitile were as used starting matrials whith a reaction time of two hours at room temperature.Neste trabalho foi desenvolvido um método alternativo para aceleração da reação de Baylis-Hillman.
