The intent of this thesis is to present an argument for the inclusion of aesthetics and the aesthetics of visual culture within the art education curriculum. Technological advancement has created an age of unprecedented dependence on visual imagery; the pervasive (and sometimes misleading) visual culture of contemporary society affects the way in which individuals understand and relate to their world.
