The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) continues to be a significant contributor to the regional economy. In its 96th year of operation, the University of Texas at El Paso currently provides educational opportunities for over 22,000 students. In doing so, UTEP employs 3,100 individuals and has an annual operating budget of $335 million, clearly making it a significant contributor to the regional economy of West Texas and the Paso del Norte region.
