Patients with chronic conditions of childhood experience exacerbations during adolescence and young adulthood, leading to higher rates of hospitalizations and burden of disease compared to earlier childhood or later adulthood.1-3 Little is known about the epidemiology of hospitalization of adolescents and young adults with childhood-onset chronic medical conditions.
