With the rise of big data, the velocity of information is increasing. Velocity will affect decisions that are based on information. The question raises whether this increase of information speed, continuity and veracity contributes to an increase in the decision quality of decision-makers in organisations. Such decision quality can be addressed by addressing the trade-off between speed and accuracy that is made by agents within the decision-making process. To create an understanding about the effects of information velocity on decision-quality, the effects of velocity on speed-accuracy trade-off are addressed by this research. The context of this trade-off is analysed within the context of the decision-making process.Engineering and Policy ...
