PENGEMBANGAN KOMIK SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DALAM MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN MANUSIA UNTUK SISWA SMP KELAS VIII

Learning media is a tool which is used to assist in delivering material and encourage students to be active in the learning process, but the minimal use of media in the learning process of science material of the human digestive system makes students less active when participating in the learning process so that media is needed in the form of comics for foster motivation to learn and stimulate students' desire to read. The purpose of this research is to determine the process of developing and feasibility of comics as a learning media in the material of the human digestive system and to determine the effectiveness and response of students after using comics as a learning media. The development model used refers to the development steps of Sugiyono (2011), namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, trial use, product revision. The type of data used is qualitative data and quantitative data. The type of data used is qualitative data and quantitative data. Data collection instruments used were observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and student and teacher response questionnaires. Validation tests are carried out by teaching media experts and material experts. The results of this research are to produce learning media in the form of comic material on the human digestive system. The validation assessment of material experts and media experts resulted in the comic eligibility of 94% and 96% which included in the very feasible category. In small-scale trials using the test results of the pretest and posttest scores showed that the posttest scores were greater than the results of the pretest scores (86>71) and the percentage of student responses was 94% (very positive). Large-scale trials at two schools showed posttest scores greater than the results of the pretest scores (80>66) (83>65) and the percentage of student responses of (92%) and (95%) (very positive). Based on these results it can be concluded that the comics used as learning media on the material of the human digestive system are effective, feasible to use and get very positive responses from students
