ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN GAYA BAHASA KIAS PERBANDINGAN DALAM NOVEL AYAH KARYA ANDREA HIRATA

The Ayah novel by Andrea Hirata explains about Sabari and Marlena love story. Sabari as the main character is described as a patient person and has a skill in Indonesian Language. He frequently uses poetic language. According to above explanations, this study purposes to describe 1) The figurative comparison language style at Ayah Novel by Andrea Hinata. 2) The function of figurative comparison language style implementation at Ayah Novel by Andrea Hinata. This study applied descriptive analysis. In addition, the data were collected by using exploration technique with some steps; read, marked, wrote, collected, and identified. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by reduction technique with three mechanisms; reduction process, explanation, and conclusion. This study was conducted with several procedures; preparation, implementation, and completion. The Data gotten from this novel were in a form of word, phrase, clause, or sentence in single story including figurative comparison language style. Hence, the object of this study was Ayah Novel by Andrea Hirata. From those processes, some language styles used by the author were found by the researcher. There were simile language style, metaphor, personification, depersonification, and allegory. Moreover, the functions of figurative language styles were to describe, strengthen, live the things, association stimulate, rise the reader’s laugh, and as the variation. The finding of figurative comparison language style implementation at Ayah Novel by Andrea Hirata claimed that there were five figurative comparison language styles; simile, metaphor, personification, depersonification, and allegory. The stylistic functions found include, as an explanation of the author's intent, reinforcing the message the author wants to convey, reviving inanimate objects, stimulating story associations, and as a decoration to dramatize certain events
