Classification of risk level in urban transit emergency events

In recent years, great disasters generated in urban rail transit systems are increasing causing serious influence to the society. In order to realize the effective risk management of urban rail transit system operations, the risk classification of city rail traffic emergencies is quite necessary. In this study, a large number of urban rail transit incidents were collected to analyze the damaging effects of emergencies. Three categories of indicators for risk classification were identified and quantified. The methods of principal component analysis and cluster analysis were adopted to evaluate the index and classification so that the level of risk could be determined. The study also summarized the relationship between risk level and three index ranks, and conducted a statistical analysis on the relationship between emergency basic attributes and risk level. The achievements are expected to provide reference for risk classification and prediction of urban rail transit emergencies.
