Charles Williams: Louise Bourgeois and other stories

Solo exhibition at Studio 1.1 Gallery, 57A Redchurch Street, London E2 7DJ. Consisting of a series of oil paintings on canvas and some works on paper, the work presents as authentic records of visual phenomena in its address and affect, but problematises the notion of representation and depictive truth by subtle indications of its fictive origin. This fictive quality is supported by the existence of various texts ('Talking To Louise Bourgeois' Spiralbound Press 2017) presenting a series of different narrative explanations for many of the images
