The Effects of manganese levels in nutrient solution related with pH on flower yield and quality of gerbera (Gerbera Jamesonii L.)

Plastik örtülü serada yürütülen bu çalışmada gerbera {Gerbera jamesonii ev La Lisa) fideleri hacımca 2:1 oranında pomza:torf karışımı yetiştirme ortamını içeren uzun plastik saksılara dikilmiştir. Üç farklı düzeyde mangan (0.165, 0.33 ve 0.66 mg l"1 Mn) içeren ve iki farklı düzeyde (pH: 5.8 ve 7.0) pH değerine sahip besin çözeltileri yetiştirme ortamına bilgisayar kontrollü damla sulama sistemi yardımıyla uygulanmıştır. Gerberanın çiçek verimi ile çiçek sapı uzunluğu, çiçek sapı kalınlığı ve çiçek tacı çapı gibi kalite parametreleri üzerine pH düzeylerinin istatistiksel olarak %1 düzeyinde önemli etkileri saptanırken, belirtilen parametreler üzerine Mn düzeylerinin önemli bir etkisi olmamıştır. pH değeri 5.8 olan besin çözeltisi uygulanan bitkilerin yapraklarının Mn, Fe, Zn ve Cu içerikleri, pH düzeyi 7.0 olan besin çözeltisi ile beslenen bitkilerin yapraklarına oranla önemli derecede yüksek bulunmuştur.The experiment was conducted in polyethlene covered greenhouse and gerbera {Gerbera jamesonii cv La Lisa) seedlings were planted in long plastic pots containing pumice :peat mixture by 2:1 volume. Nutrient solutions at three different levels of Mn (0.165, 0.33 and 0.66 mg l"1 Mn) and two levels of pH (pH: 5.8 and 7.0) were applied to the growing medium via computer controlled drip system. The effects of pH levels on the flower yield and some quality parameters such as stem long, stem diameter and crown diameter of the gerbera flowers were found to be statistically significant at 1% level, wheras Mn levels had no significant effects on these parameters. Gerbera leaves fertigated with nutrient solution at pH 5.8 had significantly higher Mn, Fe, Zn and Cu contents than that of the plants fertigated with nutrient solution at pH 7.0
